Katie Jo

Only a few years ago, Katie was living a stable life in Los Angeles working full-time for a post-production company. The demanding grind of her daily life left little time to dedicate to her passions for exploration and climbing. However, after a tragic loss, she was reminded of the brevity of life and realized that she wasn’t on the right path. She left her job and now embraces a freelance lifestyle of remote work, dedicating herself to exploring the natural landscapes of the world around her. There is a duality in her current lifestyle; she benefits from a sense of being at one with nature and a constant desire to overcome obstacles both physical and mental.

Living on the road, Katie has the outdoors as her backyard and embraces endless possibilities within her day to day life. She drives down the road, sees a mountain or cloud and thinks ‘how would that air feel? What would it be like to climb that mountain?’ Leaning into climbing and paragliding as she explores new places, Katie now feels at one with the world, welcoming boundless adventure and finding the freedom to take flight.

While Katie knows that her lifestyle exists outside of the traditional path and still hears the societal pressure to conform to a full-time work schedule, her life is happier, fuller, and freer than ever before. Whether it’s flying through the sky, climbing to new heights, or simply driving to an unknown destination, going off route has allowed Katie to see the world from different perspectives and practice her passions. While she may not always know what’s on the horizon, she sees limitless possibilities to learn new skills, take on new challenges, and say “yes” to things that she never expected to try.
